I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. After he turned one my son became very picky about what he ate. It was a very stressful time for my husband and myself and, after we landed in the rut of giving him the food he liked long enough for him to get tired of it, I decided to do something about his eating habits ... hence this purchase. The first meal I made was the animal pasta with salmon and broccoli. My son had never before been interested in eating salmon if it wasn't mashed to a pulp, and I remember telling myself that there was no way he was going to even look sideways at the broccoli. Imagine my surprise when, after a few seconds of staring at his plate suspiciously, he started gobbling up everything I put in front of him. Since that day I have tried alot of the recipes and, apart from one or two (where I might not have followed the instructions sufficiently closely), I have not have any trouble getting him to empty his plate. Many times he even nags for a second portion. I don't know what the author does to make the veggies and fish so appealing to kids, but it has certainly won over my picky little eater.

Maybe it was just my baby but I found that a lot of the recipes didn't taste nice even for me! I made the macaroni and cheese and my baby gagged from it. I also didn't love it! I think it's just easier to give your baby whatever your are eating as long as healthy. Might give some ideas to more simple recipes.

This is the first book I’ve bought on kindle that is impossible to read, the font is too small and you can’t zoom it, a complete waste of money

I bought this for our daughter after the birth of her first child. It is so helpful, practical and sensible with great family recipes.

I persevered with this book after several recipes were rejected by my toddler (who usually eats anything). He visibly recoils with many (not all) dishes in is book.That aside, I don't have time to cook these lavish meals that have ingredient lists as long as my arm, the recipes require using every dish in the darned kitchen and some of them require three step or more processes which span the entire day. What mother has time for this? Any time I cooked one of her recipes, my kitchen looked like a bomb had hit it, I was exhausted, my toddler hated the food and after hours of cooking, had to turn around and make something else for him to eat. I wouldn't even make dishes this involved for dinner guests. Not impressed at all. Also the measurements were useless. I was forever converting into cups or spoons.

Excellent book. Annabel Karmel is a recognized world author of making infant, toddler, and children's meals. It is easy to use. Breaks things down so you are only learning what you need to know for the age of child you are cooking for. She gives you important information in the beginning that was a wealth of knowledge. It wasn't too much but focused on the important stuff that everyone needs to know. Great quick reference when you are not sure about something. This book has all the recipes that you need. Once you get the hang of it you can tailor it to your own child's likes. I bought quite a few books because I wanted to make all of my own baby food. This is the one that I used. Many of the others I took to the used bookstore. If you are interested in making healthy, yummy food for your little ones this is a must have.

Really good book, lots of recipes and makes lots of sense. Common sense guide to feeding your baby! Mine is loving his food, can't feed him quick enough and there is nothing he doesn't like so far.

This book is so useful and the recipes are so yummy! Everything that I have made from it, my daughter loved and I enjoyed cooking :)

It’s been a long time since I have done a book review but I wanted to review Azure and Xamarin Forms: Cross Platform Mobile Development by Russell Fustino since I am personally interested in these two subjects.If you are new to mobile development or cloud development, then this book is for you! Heck, why not try it out since Xamarin and Azure are the easiest way to do both! Russ takes you trough easy to understand exercises to get your feet wet with these technology stacks.The mobile chapters & examples explain how to use Xamarin to create apps in iOS, Android and the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) without the need for third-party controls. The Azure examples are even better by introducing the reader to Azure which includes deployment and even the Azure CLI. What I liked most is that Russ even tackles offline data caching, something I discuss in many of my conference sessions. This is something I see most development teams not thinking about early in the architecture phase.The last chapter even walks you through how to delete all the artifacts created in Azure from the book examples! I’ve never seen that in a book before.In summary, if you are about to start your first Xamarin app that is backed by cloud computing with Azure, then this book is for you!

Russ Fustino worked for many years as a developer evangelist for Microsoft in the Boston area. What he did then for C# and .NET he now does for Xamarin in this no-nonsense collection of walkthroughs of the key topics in Xamarin.Forms development. If you want an overview of the bare minimum you need to understand to begin building professional, cross-platform mobile apps with MVVM data-binding and cloud data sync, then this is the book for you. It's not an in depth reference, as the topics are focused and the projects concisely written. Rather it's a recipe book of some of the most important dishes: Installing VS 2017, an intro to Forms, an intro to Azure, Mobile Apps and services in Azure, and using the managed client for Azure Mobile Apps to read/write and sync the data from your app. Check it out!

The book takes the approach that if you follow along with a step-by-step, that you will learn what is required to use Xamarin.Forms effectively. While I do think having users working on projects is valuable in learning, it doesn't help when the code is not explained, which is the unfortunate large error of this book.Throughout the brief tutorials, code is provided, but there is basically zero explanation as to the purpose of the code. This ;ultimately leads to a mindless approach to the learning process. Beyond this, not only is the code and elements of Xamarin.Forms not explained, the steps provided are hard to follow in themselves because of the poor layout and writing of those instructions.I would like to write something positive, but there was nothing in the first half of the book (all that I could get through) that warrants any praise.

An excellent book that was up to date thru VS2017 and the latest in both Amazon and Azure cloud sites. Russ went out of his way to include code sample pictures, as ell as the source files for all of the apps. Really helped me become a cross-platform developer. Thanks a lot, Russ!

Fisher, PhD, Director of the Fordham University Center for Ethics Education and the Marie Ward Doty University Chair and Professor of Psychology, served as Chair of the American Psychological Association’s (APA’s) Ethics Code Task Force responsible for the 2002 revision of the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct that, with the addition of language on human rights amended in 2010, is today’s current code. She currently serves as Chair of the Ethics Code Task Force for the American Public Health Association and Director of the NIDA funded Fordham University HIV and Drug Abuse Prevention Research Ethics Institute. She has served as Chair of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Human Subjects Research Board, the New York State Board for Licensure in Psychology, the National Task Force on Applied Developmental Science, and the Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD) Committee for Ethical Conduct in Child Development Research and the SRCD Common Rule Task Force. I really love this text and it's format. It makes it easy to reference APA Standards and apply ethical decision-making practices.

This book had significantly more highlighting and wear and tear than I expected any used-good book to have. I thought since the company had great reviews overall and backed by Amazon this was a great deal despite the lack of a description of the book. I was hoping for the best because of that reason. I’ve had used-good and used-acceptable books and got exactly what I expected. This book was used-acceptable at best. This company needs better evaluators.

Good review but some of the test questions were unnecessarily tricky. As a professional I don't appreciate the value of changing a single word in a sentence versus understanding the underlying meaning.

This is a very helpful, clearly written book that is easy to read. I do wish, however, that I bought the hard copy​ instead of the kindle edition, because it is not as easy to use.

Celia Fisher was a member of the APA committee that drafted the 2002 revision of the Ethical Code, and there is nothing like going to the source. The book is readable and informative, and helps to make sense of the new HIPAA regulations No ethical practitioner can afford to be without this resource.

book is aworesome, and very current. great inforamtion layout, and rich with real life examples. only thing is, the e-book is not easily manupulated. not user friendly, no page numbers visibility or chapters, except ypu have to go to headings first.

For the subject, this is a very good book. It is very easy to read and the examples are 'hard' and thorough enough to get you moving on your own very quickly. Please keep in mind, even though this is a linear algebra book, it is not a linear algebra book. Say WHAT? I say that it is not a linear algebra book in that there are almost no proofs whatsoever. So, if you want a real linear algebra book which includes mathematical proofs you will need to look elsewhere. This book skips most of the proofs and proceeds along the lines of, with out actually saying this, 'It can be shown that..."

As a computer science major, I have some background in mathematics, but I certainly don't need to do the proofs and all. This book is very easy to understand without getting too "math-y."

The textbook has great content with simple and easy to understand examples and problems. There is also a COMPLETE set of solutions to all of the books problems in the back of the book! The book is also very small compared with other textbooks and it was a joy to use and learn from!

Great book one of the easiest to understand books. I was able to teach myself whatever I missed in class from it. Really good worked out examples in the chapters.

I have started that book, it couldn't be more perspicuous, try to always look at the exercises of the chapter you might be astonish by the amount of things you can learn doing so. Excellent book.

The Definitive Edition, Vol. 1, contains three stories, but it seemed that with each one, as the narratives became more compelling, the graphic portrayal of the characters became more and more caricaturized. In the first episode, our protagonist Tara was sketched as an attractive yet no supermodel. By the third episode she was so exaggeratedly proportioned as to put Barbie to shame. Her breasts were such balloons that her upper-body movement would have been considerably hampered by them--a distinct disadvantage for a covert operative. Furthermore, the other characters followed a similar de-evolution in their physical appearances. You could tell the bad guys simply because they were drawn so sinisterly. The experience in reading was quite jarring by the last episode because the cartoonish-ly drawn characters were so incongruent to the story, which was fully grounded in the real world.Such is the consequence of having different artists doing the storyboarding for each story. I've noticed that there are three different artists working in Vol. 2. Here's hoping that what they do with sketching the characters doesn't cause them to devolve even more.

Of course I say that not knowing what it's actually like to be a spy. However, I have read books and watched a number of movies and TV shows. But haven't we all?Tara Chace is a Special Operations Officer designated "Minder Two" who is employed by the British SIS. In the first story "Operation: Broken Ground" Chace is sent to Kosovo to assassinate a former Russian general as a favor for the CIA, who in return will provide the SIS with critical information that they couldn't get on their own. Of course there are problems along the way, but I won't spoil them for you.One of the brilliant parts of this story is how the SIS has to deal with agency politics, both intra and inter. The spy game isn't all about fast cars and beautiful people after all.Antoher interesting aspect is how the job affects Chace. In the second story "Operation : Morningstar" she is required to visit the therapist, Dr. Callard. That is another thing you don't always see in spy films or novels; the toll that the job takes on the operatives.Greg Rucka's writing is straightfoward and devoid of cliche. When writing a graphic novel you cannot waste words because you need the space for illustrations. More novelists should try it sometime, because it helps teach you to tighten up dialogue.The illustrations are in black and white and it serves the stories well. Each of the three stories has a different illustrator with a different style. Some are more detailed than others. Some may not be to your taste, but I think the stories are so well told you won't mind.I really enjoyed Volume 1 and I have already ordered volume 2. Hopefully it will be as good.

If you're looking for the next best thing to 'The Sandbaggers,' this is it. If you're looking for great art or a stunning visual experience, however, look elsewhere -- the comic is decently drawn, but nowhere close to the graphic novel quality of classics like 'The Dark Knight Returns' or 'The Watchmen.' 'Queen and Country' is an extremely well-written comic book focused on the sensational aspects of modern-day counter-terrorism and intelligence gathering. Think 'Sandbaggers' with a dash of the first two seasons of '24' and you've got the idea. Great stories that are both cerebral and action-packed; definitely worth a read!

If you like any spy, espionage with political intrigue and character development then this is the book for you, who cares if its a comic book it describes scenes in much more detail than a conventional novel would take - I'm talking specifically on those sections where the writer is trying to describe what gun is being used or what type of situation is present for the protagonist the threats present, the gear available and operation centre simultaneously in a much more appreciable fashion.If you like "24", James Bond, Jason Bourne, Mission Impossible or simply females in strong leads then you will love this entire series.I highly recommend this as a first foray into comic books.

Saying that Queen and Country is a standard spy story is missing the mark. It’s very much like saying that The Wire is just another cop story. Sure, the elements are all there – message drops, assassinations, cover stories, handlers, etc etc – but the emphasis is not on the action, but rather the bureaucracy and the people who do the actions. How does a person commit horrible actions and stay sane? How do you justify what you’ve done? That’s one of the central issues in Queen and Country.There’s a certain amount of irony that in a genre who best known examples (Bond, Bourne) are superheroes by another name, that a comic book story is perhaps the most “real” story I’ve ever read about spies and their world. There are no super spies here. There is no inexplicable technology. There are just people trying to do what they believe is the best thing for their country.Rucka makes an interesting choice in that the reader usually doesn’t know if the actions of our protagonists are the “right” thing. At times even the characters themselves don’t know. We are intentionally not given any broader context to these actions. Given the temporal setting of these stories (late 1990s – early millennial) the “bad guys” are Middle Eastern/Islamic terrorists. Their larger goals and concerns are not developed. Rather, we are presented with isolated actions. Will terrorists release sarin gas at the World Cup? This allows for a certain moral clarity to the story, while subtly acknowledging that the issues are far more complex than can be dealt with in a comic book.While this title still has legs – you do see it mentioned occasionally on “best of” lists; Queen and Country does not get the love it clearly deserves. Rucka has developed a rich world surrounding the covert operatives of the UK, and these stories have earned a much wider audience.

Only on the 2nd chapter. You know it's good when every page looks like this, underlined and circled! So much revelation it takes a few times to read each paragraph to let it soak in.

This book is so rich! I find myself stopping constantly to pray over the things Lana shares. What a great little treasure it is online. I can't wait for her next book to be released. She is always right on with the words God gives her to share and has really grown me over the last few months.

This is a great book that will challenge you to step up your game on your relationship with Jesus. I love that Lana's passion comes through loud and clear when it comes to knowing our Savior, Jesus.Take the time to dive deep and see what comes of a beautiful relationship with the one who came, who died and who rose again so th R we could have eternal life.

Awesome book! This book motivates the reader to press in for a personal relationship with Christ. The book challenged me to schedule time for prayer and meditation to hear what God has to say. If you are dissatisfied with where you are in your Christian walk and want more - this is the book to read! Be challenged to go deeper!

This is a book written from the heart, narrating the journey of walking and hearing from the Lord. It caused me to hunger for an even closer relationship with Jesus. Well written, easy to read.
