I had read the book in a medical office and was impressed enough to purchase it. While some people may not embrace some of the contributions made by those mentioned in the book, my aim was to get the book to show my granddaughter how one life CAN make a difference, maybe only to one other person, but over the long haul, maybe millions would be affected by one life lived well. This book does demonstrate that very nicely.
I was delighted with this book---- and how much more so when my husband, a retired "seedsman", verified the facts about these great men portrayed in this biography. After purchasing the first book for my own early-elementary age grandchildren, I ordered 8 more copies to give to agricultural families in our church. The only negative feeling that I got was in regard to the explanation of the "butterfly effect", though it seems this is a pet subject for the author. ( If this is scientifically true, it seems that the "whoosh" of traffic and even human movement would constantly create much greater opposing forces canceling the effect of the much smaller butterfly.). Please correct me if I am wrong about this!

Great book about the ripple effects of good deeds and that when driven people with great ideas come together the result is world changing. Great book to share with children of all ages although I think 8+ may understand the content a little better.
I love this book that was written by Andy Andrews. It makes a great gift to go along with the adult version "The Perfect Moment" by Andy Andrews. I have purchased several copies of each book to give as gifts to parents and their children/
The book was easy for a child to read and comprehend. It share the struggles and love of John Washington Carter and the outcome of his zest for learning and improving his community, if not the world. The stories of those he affected come first, and how everything stemmed from one child is inspiring.
Good stories about real men and how they changed the world for the good. Neat way of telling the story.
I LOVE this book! It is such a powerful story, great for kids (and adults!) of all ages. Great illustrations, wonderful heartwarming story. We need to read it more often!
